Slideshow: Susan Erdmann - Saving Sight in the Himalaya
• The story and pictures of a recent eye camp in western Nepal. Susan is a board
member of SEVA Canada in Vancouver. SEVA has been instrumental in bringing
cataract surgery and eye care to impoverished regions for the last three decades.
Film:The Forgotten Himalaya (Canada 2010, 50 min)
• A just-finished documentary describing the efforts of Wanda Vivequin of Edmonton
to raise awareness and funds for eye healthcare in Humla, Nepal. Based at the
Citta Hospital, Wanda’s rather unusual project has been a great voice in bringing
Canadian assistance to the Humla region. This will be the first public showing!
Film: Shining Spirit (Canada 2009, 36 min)
A short but very sweet documentary filmed in India, Tibet and Canada about two
exiled brothers who reconnect with their famly in distant Tibet through mutually
recorded music. A finalist at the Banff Mountain Film Festival.
